OOTD: “The Tadashi Shoji Pintuck Jersey Gown”

Last week I was asked to be a part of designer, Tadashi Shoji’s, new “Styling Challenge”. The japanese designer is best known for dressing curvy stars on the red carpet with award winning looks such as Mo’Nique and most recently Octavia Spencer. I purchased my first Tadashi gown a year or so ago as I have mentioned before on my blog, although I haven’t worn it yet, it’s award winning too, wink wink. But the reps over at Tadashi Shoji have put together a panel of curvy bloggers to do a styling challenge to promote the new ‘plus size evening shop’ section on their website. I chose to receive the Pintuck Jersey Gown in Black. Now I know why those celebs win the awards when wearing his gowns. You can’t go wrong. I wore mine this evening to the finale show of “Full Figured Fashion Week” in New York. The gown received a ton of compliments from the moment I left my hotel, at the event and just by walking the streets of New York. I thought I was a celeb for a moment, hahaha. But Tadashi Shoji had already done that for me anyway. My gown arrived in a huge box with the Tadashi Shoji name all over it, an elegant signature gown bag and a personalized note just for me. Once I slid it on tonight I was in awe. It is sexy and classy all in one. It served as both my semi-formal attire, which was a requirement for the fashion show, and also a walk on the sassy side. The sheer detailing on the top of the gown requires that you wear a strapless bra and I would also suggest a spanx underneath for a more smooth look. The sheerness on the bottom of the gown make it to where you don’t really need to wear a fancy shoe but me being the Bella Styles that I am, I just had to add a little bling to my shoes as well to compliment my jewels. I have no complaints, this gown is comfortable, attention grabbing and really well made. I wore rhinstone shoes and accessories so that I would have that ‘Hollywood’ appeal.
