Fall/Winter 2010 Trend: “Velvet”
Everytime I see the fabric velvet I think of that line from the movie “Coming to America”, where the old man in the barber shop says, “What is that velvet?”. Corny I know, but that’s one of my favorite lines. But as I’m starting to notice more and more for this upcoming season, velvet is making a strong comeback. I started to post on this a few weeks ago but hadn’t seen anything velvet that “really” caught my eye. But as I opened an email from Bakers this morning and saw their new velvet pumps, a flash of inspiration came all over me. As Rachel Zoe always says, these are “A Die”:
