The Plus Academy VIRGINIA 2nd Class (Fall 2010): “Acting/Plus-Size Modeling & Fashion Styling”

Today was the second day of class at The Plus Academy VIRGINIA and what an awesome day it was. Instructor Liris Crosse taught the participants on “How to get started on a career of plus-size modeling and acting”.  She went over all the basics of what should be on a comp card, how to book with an agent, what to do on a casting and how to do auditions for movies/plays. Liris shared clippings of her portfolio and all the editorial and commercial work that she has done. Liris was so down to earth and had one-on-one sessions with each participant to answer questions  in detail. I’m so appreciative of her taking the time out of her busy schedule for our academy!

I instructed the second half of the class on “How to dress as a plus-size woman” and where to shop and what basics you need in your wardrobe. (Special thank you to all the Fall sponsors for The Plus Academy VIRGINIA who provided gifts for my goodie bags: Sonsi, Torrid, Eliza Parker, Evans, Swimsuits for All and Size Appeal)

Of course we got our photo ops after class…..

We then left class and headed to Ashley Stewart where the manager Danielle and staff greeted us at the door and welcomed us to use the store for me to style the ladies. Boy did we have a ball playing dress up and shopping. I pulled together some hot looks for each of the ladies according to their personal style and shape:

After a full day of learning and modeling, we worked up an appetite so we headed on over to Chick-fil-A for a bite to eat:
