Lacoste and Catherine Malandrino Unveil Collaborative Collection
Get excited because Lacoste is giving us something brand new this spring. Sure, we love their classic polos, but their upcoming collaboration with Catherine Malandrino was just unveiled… And it’s going to be fabulous! Are you falling in love with Lacoste all over again?
Lacoste has always been a bit more sportier and even their dresses have an athletic feel to them. So, I’m thrilled that Catherine Malandrino is stepping in to give Lacoste a little girly makeover with her new collection.
The upcoming spring collection will consist of dresses, wide-leg trousers, miniskirts, harem pants, and more. And Malandrino tells WWD.com, “My most important role with Lacoste is to open the door to the feminine world. Now I am relaying effortless, chic, everyday clothes that you don’t have to think about. All of the silhouettes can be eye-catching, whether it is a miniskirt or high-waisted pants.” Sounds fabulous!
Even the famous crocodile logo is being altered for Catherine Malandrino’s designs! Her pieces will feature a pair of kissing crocodiles. How cute is that?
Catherine Malandrino’s 12-piece collection for Lacoste will come to stores mid-April and pieces will run between $145-$650. Not cheap, but when is Lacoste ever cheap? After the spring collection, the designer already has 3 more collections lined up!
Malandrino describes the natural synergy between the two brands originating in France in the video below. Malandrino drew from Parisienne influence for her Fall 2011 collection as well, which she featured in New York in February.
The collection will be available mid-April at Lacoste locations, Malandrino locations and select online retailers.
