Payless Shoes Announces New Designer Collection: “Tcherassi”
NEW YORK — Payless ShoeSource is expanding its horizons with its newest designer collaboration. The company is partnering with Silvia Tcherassi, the Colombian fashion designer, to create a line of handbags and footwear under the Silvia Tcherassi for Payless brand. As part of a two-year deal, Tcherassi will design two collections a year priced between $40 and $70 — her first will hit Payless stores in early May. “This is a great opportunity to create shoes and handbags to complement my existing fashion collections,” said Tcherassi, a native of Barranquilla, Colombia, whose designs are expected to reflect her Latin background. “For the spring-summer season this includes many important silhouettes like wedges, flats, strappy heels and thong sandals with key trend details like bright colorblocking, unique mesh uppers and satin ribbon details and ties.” Payless has similar collaborations with Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, and Isabel Toledo, though Tcherassi’s is the first that will also be widely available in Payless stores across Latin America, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala.
The collection will be available in select cities in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as through a limited offering on Payless.com. The new line will also be available in stores across Latin America including Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago
