OOTD: “City Chic in the Park”
The weather was so wonderful here in Virginia today that I decided to have a day in the park with my son. The only bad thing is the pollen count is very high right now and everything is covered in green. So after a quick stop by the car wash, on to the park we were. (S/N I had my son serve as my photographer today and he did such a good job that I “had” to reward him with a new video game afterwards). Anyway last month City Chic had a serious 60% off sitewide sale and I had to take advantage of it. City Chic is an Australian plus-size retailer that carries trendy, fashion forward clothing for us curvy gals. They were even featured during a runway presentation at last month’s L’Oreal Melbourne festival. One of the items I purchased during the sale was this maxi dress with the sheer overlay. It has a strapless elastic top and a connected shorter underlay. It is very stylish, comfortable and would be perfect if you’re attending an evening wedding, dance or other similar function. It’s also very “En Vogue” right now since sheer is one of this spring’s top trends. Sheer overlay dresses were popping up on top designer runways shows at fashion week like Louis Vuitton, Sass & Bide and Preen Line.
Currently I’m working with City Chic on their upcoming new lookbook so I only wore mine today for this mini photoshoot. (But be sure, I’m waiting for another special occasion to pull it back out again). Just to help you when ordering, I normally wear a size 18/20 in US sizes so I had to order this in the M in the Australian size. Overall I am absolutely pleased with this dress and I highly recommend it to others who may like it too. (P.S. it’s a definite head-turner . When I stopped by the mall afterwards, ladies were asking where did I get it from).
