Salon Talk: “My New Hairdo by Tahnesha of “Top Notch Styles”
So as you all may have noticed I’m a wig fanatic. I literally have wigs for different days of the week or outfits. But it’s been awhile since I’ve had a full fledge sew-in weave and I wanted something really nice for my CBS interview that I had to do yesterday morning. I recently befriended stylist Tahnesha Ervin of “Top Notch Styles” on facebook and I am so thrilled. I went to her shop, Envouge II Salon, on Wednesday afternoon and that’s where the transformation began. Upon arrival I was pleasantly greeted by Tahnesha and her beautiful personality. Not to mention the ambiance in the salon was quite elegant and dainty. I just love a salon that’s not overcrowded with stylist and patrons hanging all over the place. You won’t find that here. I received one-on-one attention the entire process.
Tahnesha Ervin is a Licensed Cosmetologist / Certified Weaving Technician who was born in North Philadelphia but raised in Richmond, Va. With the passion for hair styling she relocated to attended cosmetology school in Atlanta, Ga at Proway Beauty School and continued her training at Empire Beauty School in Richmond VA. With more than 12 years of experience in styling hair Tahnesha has been known for her creative & sassy styles! Tahnesha Specializies in “Undetectable” Hair Weaving techniques such as the “Malaysian Method” Sew-in and Micro Link Fusion for ALL ethnicities. She enjoys participating in local and National hair competitions, seminars and hair shows to keep up with the latest and popular hair styles & trends. Tahnesha’s creative work has been recognized all over from the Atlanta, D.C & Baltimore areas. She has also been listed as the “featured hairstylist” for Virginia’s most popular Bridal shows, Fashion shows & Magazines.
Tahnesha started my weave by braiding my entire head in a circular design. Then she placed a netting over that to secure my tracks. Now let me just say that I’m a “tender headed” person as the old folks used to say but her braiding technique didn’t hurt my head at all.
I was going for a layered look so once she finished sewing the hair onto the braids & netting she then cut it with a straight-razor for my layered look. Tahnesha suggested that the best weave to purchase was by the company called Milky Way so I bought 2 bags of their yaky hair. I like the long hair look so for this look I had to get the 14-inch hair at $40 per bag. In the end I had a bouncy new do and I couldn’t be more excited. What sold me even more is that Tahnesha even took the time outta her busy schedule to actually come down to the CBS studio with me the next day just to be sure that my curls and everything were still in tact and stayed on set with me for touchups. Ghee, I could get used to this kind of treatment, lol. I was a superstar for the day. This hairstyle should last me about 3 months and all I have to do in-between is go in every few weeks for a tightening up of the weave tracks.
Her next accomplishment is to take her work to another level by becoming a celebrity stylist and opening a chain
of beauty salons …….Watch out world Tahnesha E. is on the rise!!
My finished look: $165

I was going to tell you on Facebook that I like the new hair. Your hair always looks good though. I’m thinking about a few tracks myself.
