Coverage From The Ashley Stewart Grand Opening Fashion Show at Willow Lawn Mall

This past Saturday, August 18, 2012, I was blessed to be able to host the grand opening fashion show for Ashley Stewart’s new store here in Richmond, VA at Willow Lawn Mall. I styled 7 models and 3 hostesses in attire from the new Fall collection for Ashley Stewart. The models traveled near and far to be at this event. Special thanks to Ali, TJ, Samantha and Tiffany who all drove from locations such as Atlanta, Virginia Beach and DC to be here. (Some models even had to come up twice once for fittings last week then again for the show Saturday. I truly thank you for your dedication and support).

I coordinated 3 scenes all featuring the current trends of peplum, colored denim, high-low dresses and metallic and animal-print jeans. We had a fantastic DJ to get the crowd hyped and our commentator was the wonderful Derek Lett who is an Ashley Stewart employee. I was honored that corporate Ashley Stewart came out to the event and I must thank Kathy Clair for driving all the way from New York to attend this show as well as Nina and Danielle for all of their networking assistance.

I’m not sure if people realize how much goes into doing a presentation such as this by yourself and my hat goes off to those who do major shows with various designers and models. I stayed up late nights on YouTube to coordinate  the music for the DJ with certain scenes, personally selecting the models, then six+ hours of fittings & taking pics of the models and printing them out for the commentator with  their names and clothing prices, blogging to promote the show, last minute glitches and fittings, trips back and forth to the store to pull clothing all the way down to coordinating the show vision with the photographers, makeup artists and videographer. I even designed the show programs. But I soooo love what I do and wouldn’t change it for anything. I must thank MUA’s  Melba Jones and her assistant, my girl Manaya as well as Mary Kay rep Tania for the wonderful job on makeup for myself and the models. So for all my hard work and effort here’s a few pics of what I came up with. (More pics are on my facebook page)

Hope you like 🙂
