OOTD: “Bells Will Be Ringing”
So as I already posted last week, UK retailer Asos had some great new items in the CURVE section. One of them was this Blue Maxi Dress with Bell Sleeves, $110.21. I haven’t placed an express order with Asos in forever but I paid the extra $12 just so that I would have this dress in my wardrobe right away. Well it arrived earlier this week and between my scheduling and the weather I finally got around to taking pics in it today. But to my surprise, when I took the dress out of the package it was very long and looked much like a church choir robe to me. I know that I’m plus-size and all but this dress has a LOT of material in it and was very static clingy. Honestly, I’m not very impressed with it now and Asos is usually always on point with their curvy fashion. The dress looked sooooo good on the model on the website, but then again she was small. (That’s why it pays to show curvy clothing on real curvy women on these clothing sites). It is a gorgeous shade of blue but it was very difficult to take pics in it accenting the double thigh splits due to the extra material. So therefore you can’t even see that detail of the dress in most of my pics. Now I will say that the bell sleeves fit perfect and the gathering under the bust area gave great lift. (And I guess my Butterfly Bra help too). But I wasn’t sure whether or not to add a belt or wear it alone. Being as though I did however throw on a pink belt in a few of the pics, I wore these rainbow animal-print heels by Ironfist that I got from Torrid some years ago.
As far as foundation goes, under the dress I’m wearing the All-in-one shaper girdle with long legs from Full Beauty, $54.99. Ladies you always want a smooth look under your garments and this girdle I must say is one to add to your collection. I didn’t have any problem sliding it on and it goes right over whatever bra that you may be wearing. This particular control shapewear works to target problem areas, eliminating bulges, cellulite, drooping while promoting better muscle tone and circulation. I’m wearing the nude color and even though the sizing guide says a 2X is supposed to fit sizes 26W-28W, it fit me perfect and I’m a size 18/20.
I’m sure you also noticed the new hairdo. I’ve been asked recently via email what wigs do I wear so I’m gonna try to start featuring them more. I was in the beauty store this weekend and came across this Vivica Fox lace-front wig named Tilly. It’s actually a side-braided wig but someone had taken it a loose on the mannequin and to my benefit, that was a good thing. I loved the curl of it hanging down. I’ve worn the Vivica Fox wig brand before here and here and am a loyal fan. As you can see I went back to my “blonde roots” too, lol.
