OOTD: “Emerald City Fashion at Bloomingdale’s”

For the Bloomingdale’s Fashion Show for FFFWeek® on Thursday, I slipped into this Black & White Striped Chiffon Gown from Chic and Curvy Boutique, $119.00. I was sooooo nervous to wear this dress during FFFWeek because I knew fellow fashionable curvy divas would probably have it on too. (I heard that someone did wear it on the cruise though). If you hadn’t noticed already, my biggest pet peeve is another woman having on my same outfit at an event. I usually carry an extra in my bag, don’t judge me. But I had a feeling that even if that happened I would be ok by adding a pop of green to the dress instead of the usual red or yellow that most ladies use. Being as though emerald green is the color of the year I added this DKNY purse, $145 from T.J. Maxx, that I borrowed from my Mom and a pair of Green Pumps from Payless, $34.99. I literally got these pumps the day before my trip. They were waiting for me in Payless as I was searching for shoes for another outfit.

Anyway, you may remember that I featured this exact same dress in a coral color on Mother’s Day. Well that was a size 2X and it fit a little full in the bust area so this time I went a size down. Now let me tell you, I NEVER show this much cleavage and was paranoid outta my mind doing so but when in NYC you tend to break out of your shell sometimes and that I did. I tried to take the direct attention off of the “girls” by adding a bold statement necklace that I had found earlier in the day at my fave jewelry store in NYC, but that didn’t work. A guy on the street looked straight down my shirt and said, “Welcome to New York”. I couldn’t even get mad and everybody that was walking with me at the time had a great laugh at my expense 🙂
