FFFWeek® Runway Report: “Youtheary Khmer by Theary Sim Fall 2013 Collection”
One of the presenting designers for the Indie Show during FFFWeek® on Friday was YOUTHEARY KHMER by Theary Sim. I first was introduced to her collection at last years FFFWeek®. Theary is giving her fans long-flowy maxi gowns for this upcoming Fall season and the prints vary from hues of bold blue to the ever popular animal print design. Theary Sim is a model turned designer based in Atlanta, GA whose placements include Essence, Marie Claire, InStyle, Vibe, US Today, Ricki Lake and BET’s Rip The Runway. Youtheary Khmer wants every woman to love her curves and can feel beautiful just walking down the street.
The pre-fall collection, Idee Fixe, is the irrational obsession of the woman. Dominating individual’s thoughts by reinterpreting fantasy with ornamental spirals and epic illusions. Covered in a colored darkness, whimsical silhouettes and bold structure. Cutting and pasting together periods and styles, combining fabrics together in the same piece of clothing, bringing out the incongruous detail. Playing with decorative extremes for everyday, to bring to life fearless fashions that are anything but customary.
The following items, which are my personal fave from the collection that were shown at FFFWeek®, will soon be available on her site:
YK Long Color Block Dress, $169
