Bella on the Scene: “The Runway Show at Curves Rock Fashion Weekend”

Ok, now that I’m back home and settled in I can wholeheartedly write about how fabulous the finale show for Curves Rock Fashion Weekend was. I attend many, many plus-size fashion shows year-round and I must say that not everything is always wearable. But I can honestly admit that I loved at least 99% of everything that sashayed down the runway Saturday night. I’m talking about from designers and retailers such as Torrid, Tru-Diva, Shanda Freeman, Ashley Stewart, Marco Hall, and many, many more. To the creator of the show, Chanell Jones, even debuting her own line, C. Nicole, which was breathtaking by the way. There’s NO excuse why plus-size women should feel as if there aren’t any fashion choices out here for us nowadays. The event was held at the swank Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Baltimore and from the VIP reception, where the food was off-the-chain good, to the many awesome vendors in the lobby, I had a ball. A tear popped in the corner of my eye when CRFW Co-Creator, Tykesha Reed, walked the runway for her sister during her presentation. Gotta love family support. But that tear quickly dried up because they had the music during the show popping. I mean I’m no clubber but I was so hype with each designers presentation from the music AND the fashion. The hosts for the night, Liris Crosse and Tionna Smalls, kept the crowd upbeat and entertained with comic relief and an array of giveaways. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I truly hope that they make this an annual event at this location. The Harbor is the perfect spot for fun, fashion and family entertainment.
