OOTD: “Haute (Haunted) Houndstooth”
My outfit today was inspired by a few things. One, the trend of houndstooth, two, Beyonce’s finger-wave hairdo in her new video “Haunted” and three, by the huge up to 80% off sale at Monif C. that I posted about on yesterday. On Tuesday of this week when the news of the sale broke, I grabbed this item that I’m wearing today that is called the “Tracy” dress. It’s been on my personal wishlist for some time now. But when I saw that it went down to only $41 from $208 I grabbed it. I see many others must have too because just since yesterday, it is now showing that the dress is sold-out, sorry. But what I was most impressed with was the speedy shipping. I only paid for standard shipping and my item arrived yesterday, just two days after placing the order. Cool point for the Monif C. company.
The dress is long and fits very nice on. The unique part of the Tracy dress are the cut-outs on the side waist area. I was hesitant at first thinking that I could never get away without wearing a shaper underneath because of my “love handles”, but it worked out just fine for me. For those of you who may have also picked up this dress, just be sure to wear an all black full support bra with it.
I hadn’t worn these turquoise, pink and black heels in a while and wanted to add pops of color to the black and white houndstooth print of the dress. So I kept all of my jewelry (by Ashley Stewart) turquoise and added a pink clutch to bring out the shoes.
Now if you want to wear the look in the office you have to improvise the area where the cut-outs are. So I threw on a sweater-vest and added a wide belt (both by Ashley Stewart) and that’s how you make this dress suitable at work:
This is why I subscribe. I learn so much coordinating techniques.
Thanks Coriluv!
Hi ms. Bella
The dress is beautiful and it looks so good on you. I have never seen a long houndstooth dress. Very unusual !!
