OOTD: “Mesh and Spikes”

In preparation of celebrating my 4-year blogiversary next month, I have been doing loads of giveaways here lately. Now if you know a little of the fashion history of Bella Styles then you know that Asos has been a longtime fave of mine and I have had many posts dedicated to the brand. To demonstrate what stylish and trendy clothing Asos offers, today I’m wearing one of the latest dresses on their Curve section. It is the ASOS CURVE Exclusive Body-Conscious Dress With High Neck & Mesh Sleeves ($52.68, Sizes 14-24). Asos is a UK based brand, with a US site as well, that offers clothing in straight-size, plus-size and Men’s. I say all of that to point out that in their Curve department items tend to run full, which is a good thing for the most part, and you can often go a size down. (But remember when ordering from a direct UK site you usually have to go up two sizes). I have come to realize though that since most of the Asos Curve dresses are made of viscose, they are figure flattering, they don’t shrink after washing and the overall fit is really well.

This mesh dress is a great option to add to your LBD (Little Black Dress) collection as it offers just the right amount of sexiness with the sheer mesh sleeves and another sheer mesh illusion at the hem of the dress. The keyhole front and back detailing require no additional jewelry pieces to be added to the ensemble besides earrings. I however improvised additional jewelry for statement pumps and a handbag. I added a pop of red to the dress with these Truth or Dare by Madonna Minnelli Pumps and Marc Fisher Croco Clutch both from Macy’s. Now the pumps are currently sold-out on the Macy’s website but are available in select sizing on Ebay. The clutch is still available, in various colors, online and in-store at Macy’s. I purchased mine this weekend in the store and they were having a buy one/get one free sale. So I got two for only $46.99 total and was thrilled since I had been watching this clutch since last year on the purse rack.
