The 2014 International Fuller Woman Expo in Detroit, August 29th-31st

The International Fuller Woman Network is a body positive, initiative based non-profit organization that connects women around the world to resources that help create a body positive lifestyle. The International Fuller Woman Network was founded by Cassandra Jones-McBryde in the US and is comprised of women from all over the world that are committed to the mission of embracing who we are as women and creating a dialogue of acceptance and celebration. The schedule and model call info for the event are below:

Is there a fee?

  • No. There is no fee to audition.

Is this a paid opportunity?

  • We do not have the capacity to compensate our runway models at this time.

What are the requirements?

  • We do prefer that our models stand at least 5′ 7″ with heels.
  • No experience necessary
  • Must be able to attend rehearsals. Models not local to the Detroit area must demonstrate a higher level of experience.
  • No Wedge heeled shoes under any circumstances!
  • Sizes 14-28
  • All ages welcome
  • Please bring a Comp Card or Full Body shot 
  • Be prepared to say what being a “Fuller Woman” means to you.

How many models will you select?

  • 20 models will be selected.

Selections will be made the following day and you will be notified via email within the next couple of days. Rehearsals  will begin after the next model call.

When is the next model call?
  •  The next model call location will be announced on Monday July 28th

Release- Getting in touch with the things hinder you from living a more fulfilling life and finding your pleasure center,
Body Image – What it is to have a body positive image and lifestyle  
Healthy Soulful Cooking- Enjoying healthy options in the way that we have become accustomed.
Fashion Spotlight- Highlighting amazing designs throughout the day 
Plus size shopping on a budget- It takes skill and patience to be so fly on a dime. Learn some great tips from those in the know.
Vendor Fair-  Vendors from around the country bringing you goods and services that cater to every Fuller Woman, from the inside out!

(8pm-10pm-doors open at 7)
Runway fashions- Enjoy fashions from around the country worn by working models in the industry
Mia Amber Davis Award of Excellence- Honoring an amazing Fuller Woman who has inspired the community.
Enjoy delicious appetizers and cash bar
