The Plus-Size Runway Shows During New York Fashion Week, September 2014
As my fashionistas already know, tomorrow starts Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week for the Spring 2015 shows. But for my plus-size sistas who probably won’t be seeing themselves represented on the runways at Lincoln Center, I have you covered for all of the “size-friendly” shows. First up is the Betty Jean Couture show on Friday, September 5th that will be filled with all of the top plus-size models on the catwalk. Clothing Designer Kenneth Doswell of Betty Jean Couture and the 2014 Full Figured Fashion Week Designer of the Year invites the press and the general public to enjoy an evening of fashion and entertainment.
Kenneth has developed a 2015 spring/summer collection of whimsical chiffon tops, vintage inspired dusters and his staple of well-tailored suits, and red carpet dresses exclusively for the plus size market. He has assembled 20 of the industry’s top plus size models who will personify his vision of couture fashion using brightly colored asymmetrical tops, flowy georgette dresses and white hot tailored jackets and pants. This years show “High Tea” is a powerful and inspiring collection that destroys the idea of high fashion only coming in a standard size.
