If you’ve been reading my recent posts, here and here, then you already know that I’m all over the latest Lane Bryant campaign called #PlusIsEqual. To my delight Lane Bryant even sent me one of the signature shirts a few weeks ago. So last night to help celebrate my Mom’s birthday I felt was the perfect time to bring it out and rep for the curvy ladies. As I’ve mentioned before here in RVA they have jazz nights at the museum and I knew that my Mom would be attending for her birthday so the kids and I surprised her and popped up. She’s always mentioning how all the fab Richmonders show up and show out in their gorgeous apparel which was all I needed to know to have the opportunity to break out my latest tutu from Chic and Curvy Boutique ($85)

Funny thing is I was thinking just recently about doing a blog on how to style a tutu and this was my opportunity to show you better than I can tell you. Now I decided to wear mine with a blazer and of course the #PlusIsEqual Tee ($29.95), but tutu’s, whether long or short, look great with crop tops, tank tops, tees with a twist knot in the front or a graphic shirt. As far as shoes go, pumps or slingbacks are a great choice but since my tutu was long I went with these flats from Lane Bryant ($27.99).  Check out some more tutu style ideas below.

I loved how blogger “Garner Style” did her celebrity style capture of the long tutu that singer Kelis wore:
