OOTD: “Black & Yellow, Black & Yellow” (Go VCU Rams)
All day long I’ve been singing the Wiz Khalifa song, “Black and Yellow”. Ok so call me a bandwagon fan but I can’t help but support my VCU Rams right now for making it into the “Final Four”. But since I come from a family of all VUU, ODU and VCU graduates I guess I’m really not a bandwagoner so much then, lol. Anyway our city is buzzin right now. My son and I went to see the new movie “Hop” earlier and traffic near the VCU campus is bananas. I love it. The city is finally in unity for something positive.
So in honor of the Rams I wore a “Final Four” shirt in the signature black & gold (yellow) color. I’m not a t-shirt kinda chic so I had to try to pull this one off the best I could. My mom happened to be in JCPenney at the right time Wednesday as they were just putting these shirts on the floor. She said literally in a matter of minutes they were all gone. Luckily she called me, as she usually does when she sees a killer sale, and asked was I interested in one. Once again I said yes and she also grabbed my son one too. Good thing too, I got stopped so many times today with people complimenting me and asking where’d I get the tee from. (Gotta love it, Mom dukes is “MY” personal shopper and I’m the personal shopper for all of my clients, lol).
I paired the tee with my new Norma Kamali batwing cardigan and my favorite pair of leggings right now by City Chic. I originally ordered the cardigan in the plus-size 3X version but it was too big so I re-ordered it in the misses size XXL. Good thing too because the price had dropped down too. The cardigan is actually very comfortable as well as stylish. It covers the backside very well since it is longer in the back. A great alternative to wearing an actual coat. Total outfit cost less than $35:
My twin for the day, my son. (If you’re wondering, like me, where his other foot is, I’m assuming that he had it on the plant stand behind him. Silly boy, lol)
