Please Vote For Me In The 2011 “Project Style” Fashion Competition

A few weeks ago I submitted an online entry for a contest called “Project Style” at Short Pump Towne Center here in Richmond. So I was excited when I got the call last Thursday that I had been selected as a semi-finalist for the next round. The contest starts off with 5 rounds of 2 contestants each where one winner is chosen per round and goes up for the ultimate style challenge at a later date. The final winner gets ultimate bragging rights as the Top Trendsetter and a $1,000 shopping spree! How the contest works is that each contestant is given a $150 gift card to the mall and must find a complete outfit within that budget range. So you all know that I’m a budget fashionista so that was right up my alley. I had to submit 4 photos of myself in the outfit, a short YouTube video of myself in the outfit and I even got to use one personal item from my own closet to complete the look. Here’s what I put together:

My trend theme was the “Tribal/Aztec” look. So I opted for this maxi dress, which is also a top style must have this season, and I even mixed in a lil 70’s flare with the floppy hat. Not everything always has to be matchy-matchy so I paired up the dress with brown feather earrings, navy/gold shoes and the turquoise clutch to bring out all facets of my color scheme.
