OOTD: “Colorful Maxi Style”
Now for my OOTD (Outfit of the Day) on yesterday, I wore this long-length black and white maxi from Ashley Stewart. I attended a cookout then went shopping so I wanted to wear something carefree. This was supposed to have been one of my outfits for “Full Figured Fashion Week” last week but I didn’t get the chance to wear it. I was so disappointed too. I had planned this ensemble for over a month. I believe I got this maxi dress sometime in April and I knew right away that I wanted to break the black and white up with a pop of color, preferably turquoise. The dress is ultra comfy and is just the right length to be considered an actual maxi. (Some dresses from different retailers are too short, but are yet still labeled maxi dresses). I realized that I had a turquoise clutch to add to it that I had received from a contest that I entered last month. That served as my first pop of color. The plus-size retailer Torrid had recently sent me some items to review, and in that package was this red belt. I used that as my second use of color. (This belt is very comfortable around the waist too I might add. It doesn’t smother you like some belts tend to do). I have collected different selections of bracelets over the years so they were a no brainer to put together. But what astonished me was when just a few days before I left, I went to the beauty supply store to get a few last minute things, and discovered these earrings in what color scheme of all things, black, white, red and turquoise. I knew then that they were waiting for me. And at only a buck, I wasn’t gonna leave them in the store either. The earrings served as the final piece to my “ensemble puzzle”!
