My Interview for CBS “Virginia This Morning” on Kids Fall Fashion
I was invited last month to come back onto the CBS “Virginia This Morning” show to do segment on kids back-to-school fashion. The interview was originally scheduled to be done last week before school started but due to Hurricane Irene we had to postpone it until yesterday. So instead of calling it “Back to School Fashion” we changed it to “Kids Fall Fashion”. Since we did a pre-taping it won’t air until Monday, September 12th at 9:00am. Many people believe that all I do is styling for plus-size women but in all actuality I style everybody, from kids, to men & women, career clients to models, down to party planning and interior decorating. So for this segment I had three models, 2 girls and a boy to fashionably get ready for the upcoming season.
The day started off with everyone arriving to the studio around 9am to get dressed and for last minute prepping. I did final touch-ups on everyone to be sure they were camera ready. One of my models mother, Ms. Quan, blessed us all with a wonderful prayer and that really calmed everyone’s nerves. Once we were settled we were allowed to be in a private conference room and that was really great since my hairdresser was also on set and needed to do touch-ups to my hair. I then had my little models to do a run-through of their model poses and that was fun. Before long, we were being escorted back to the actual recording studio.
The staff is always so courteous at CBS. Samantha greeted us upon arrival and then escorted us to the back. Even one of the cameramen assisted the models while on air with their posing The parents, my hairdresser and even my friend were all allowed to go on set too. I thought that was really nice for extra support. Once back in the studio we were greeted by newscasters Cheryl Miller and Jessica Noll. After snapping a few pics it was time for my segment to record.
My first model was little Ms. Amare and she was representing the trend of “Faux Fur and Jeggings”.
