Coverage From My CBS “New Year, New You” Segment

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter them you may have already seen me post the video link for my “CBS Virginia This Morning” segment that I did this past Friday, January 4, 2013. The feature was on “New Year, New You” fashions. This was my fifth time appearing on the show and I so love every opportunity that I get to go back. I styled four models in fashions from new trends and styles for 2013 to bridal attire for a spring wedding. I was interviewed by the legendary Cheryl Miller and she was such a pleasure to work with again. (She also interviewed me for my previous segments on ‘Back to School Fashions’ 2012 and ‘Spring 2011 Plus-Size Fashions’).

I was contacted by CBS in early December to do this segment as it was originally set to be on New Year’s Eve fashions. But the scheduling got backed up and we pushed the segment to January and therefore that’s how it got changed to the ‘New Year, New You’ theme. I immediately contacted some of my industry fashion people and they were happy to assist me with this project. Many thanks to Target, Sonsi, Nordstrom, Saxon Shoes, Dillard’s, Ashley Stewart and Tadashi Shoji. But I couldn’t have a segment without lovely models. I have to give a huge shoutout to Maria, Kacey, Austyn and Samantha who all came from near and far to be apart of this segment. I also worked with talented makeup artist Andrea of AMJ Artistry and Nikko C. Once again I was blessed with the outstanding photography by Doug of Never Forgotten Photography. I’ve been working with Doug since last July when we did the photoshoot with Liris Crosse at Curves Rock Fashion Weekend in Baltimore and then again in August when he was one of my photographers for my fashion show at Ashley Stewart.
