OOTD: “Rocking My Curves For Spring”

Spring Rockin My Curves Dress Collage

Can I just say how glad I am that spring is finally upon us. It was just snowing last week here in VA and today it’s gonna reach in the 90 degree mark. So no more heavy coats and layering up for now. It’s officially maxi dress time. Which is why I couldn’t wait to break out one of my new dresses today. (But speaking of springtime, the only downfall is the pollen so excuse the frowns instead of smiles in my pics. With Spring comes allergies and the guy had just cut the grass, so I’m holding back sneezes lol).  Anyway, I’m sure by now you all have seen how the black and white trend has taken over the fashion world. One in particular style dress that is a hot commodity for the upcoming season is this one that I’m wearing today called the ‘Spring White Rockin My Curves Gown’ from Chic and Curvy Boutique ($49, Sizes 1X-3X). I wore the long sleeved version here a couple of months ago. As I stated then, this style dress is similar to the $5,000+ Stella McCartney Saskia dress that is now sold out. I’ve spotted the dress that I’m in today on various websites in both straight-size and plus-sizes the past week, so I’ve got a feeling you may be seeing a lot of ladies rockin their curves in this dress this spring.

There are a couple different versions to it too. One is the racerback style and the other is the one that I’m wearing which is sleeveless. Of course I showed how to wear it plain Jane but then I wanted to spice things up a little. So I added a wide red & black belt and matching bracelet both from Simply Fashion. I swapped out my original Mossimo Pumps for these 6″ Black & White Tuxedo Open Toe Ankle Booties w/ Satin Bow, ($55.95, Sizes 6-12). I didn’t really plan on wearing the Tuxedo Booties with this dress, as I was only just trying them on for the first time, but I decided to snap a few pics while in them. (I think these booties would go great with an all white capri pants suit and black top). Anyway back to the dress, it is made of a polyester/spandex blend which makes it not hold wrinkles and very carefree but you MUST wear the proper foundations under it or it will show every lump and bump. I can admit that I could have gone for a more firm support one-piece girdle myself or a mid-thigh shaper after looking at the pics. But that’s what I’m here for, to review items for you all so you will know how to hook up your own outfits in advance.
