OOTD: “Incognito” (The Camouflage Trend)

I went to a birthday party last night and decided that instead of dressing up, that I would go for a more casual yet trendy look. I’m trying my hand with the camouflage trend. This is something that I would normally probably had never worn before but when I saw how feminine this jacket looked in the camo print on the website, I just had to try it. I’m wearing the Drawstring Waist Camouflage Jacket from Chic and Curvy Boutique ($45). The jacket is a zip up style that also has snap buttons over the zipper too. It is very comfortable to wear and the drawstring waist helps accentuate the waistline (although I added a wide belt in some pics for an even more feminine look).

I wasn’t in the mood to wear heels which gave me an excuse to try out my newest boots. They are the studded over-the-knee boots from Lane Bryant. I just ordered them this week and they seem to be sold-out already. They’re originally $89.95 but were 40% off that day. (That could explain why they’re now sold out). What I love about getting boots from an actual plus-size retailer is you’re almost guaranteed to get a wide-width and calf friendly fit. That’s exactly what these boots represent. You have the style and trendiness of an OTK boot but it actually has extra room at the top portion for added comfort.

I simple wore with the jacket and boots a pair of my new everyday must have, the Just My Size Women’s Leggings ($17.99) with an olive green top. Before I ventured out into the camo trend I did a little research to see how to rock this look. I gathered pics from the likes of Mary J., Rihanna and Rita Ora who all styled their camouflage jackets with either jeans, shorts or a mixture of color and prints.
