Coverage from “Plus Night Out” During ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ in NYC

Whooooh, I’m finally back home after an adventurous day in New York City yesterday. In addition to attending a Wendy Williams Show taping that morning, then attending the Tadashi Shoji Fashion Show at NYFW that afternoon, I made my last round of events with ‘Plus Night Out’. This was an event just for celebrating plus-size fashion during the biggest night in fashion all year, ‘Fashion’s Night Out’. The event was put together by the multi-talented Designer and Creative Director of Skorch Magazine, Jovanna Reyes. The night was hosted by Shanda Freeman and Doria Pagnotta of “Jerseylicious”. I attended the first “Fashion’s Night Out Plus” last September in Alexandria, VA and knew for sure that I didn’t wanna miss this one either. Curvy socialites, celebs, models and more were all in attendance. Jovanna held the event at the ultra fab Yotel hotel in Manhattan. This place was so unique and perfect for such an event.

There was a fashion show during the night and all of the designer and vendors had there own individual suites around the room with glass enclosures to view what was taking place on the main floor. Attendees were treated to view designs by Shanda Freeman’s Gemini collection, F3, Eddy & Bri, Alter Ego Clothing, Lee Lee’s Valise and the designer who really took my breath away, Curvy Girls Bridal. Upon arrival I got a chance to interview Curvy Girls Bridal owner Ruth and the wedding gowns that graced the runway to end the night were PHENOMENAL. Skorch Magazine and Infinite Form held a model search during the event and congrats are in order to winner, Sunni Diggs, of Baltimore. Myself along with curvy models Christina Mendez, Liris Crosse, Nikki Gomez and Lorna Litz were the judges for this competition. Throughout the night were giveaways from various vendors and I even did a giveaway for one lucky attendee featuring a jumpsuit by Simply Be. Overall it was a great night dedicated to all the women with curves and I was so excited to be a part of such a great event. Here are some event pics and also my faves and must haves from the show:
