OOTD: “Maxi With A Twist”

Back in September I shared with readers How To Transition Your Maxi Dresses From the Summer to the Fall Season. So today I wore a maxi dress that I blogged on before here and I put a little twist on it for Christmas. It is the Igigi by Yuliya Raquel Kiyomi Maxi Dress ($175) paired with a red mock-neck Michael Kors shirt (Macy’s) and a faux-leather vest from Lane Bryant. This was another one of my last minute ensembles that came together as I was getting dressed. I originally had another outfit put out for church but then I couldn’t find my pumps to wear with that and grabbed this dress instead. Being that the maxi is sleeveless I put on the long-sleeved red shirt but realized that was covering the red waistband that is made onto the dress. So to keep with the red theme I wore a multi-colored belt (from Ashley Stewart) over the vest and added a red envelope clutch from Target ($19.99) and black pumps from Charlotte Russe. Most maxi dresses tend to be very long, so I find that wearing at least a 6-inch heel really does the trick to not have it dragging the ground. As they say, the higher the heel, the closer to God!
