OOTD: “New York Fashion Week, Fall 2013, Day One”
Early yesterday morning I arrived in NYC after traveling all night to be there for the beginning of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week aka New York Fashion Week. I had been so busy prepping for this over the past week that I realized I hadn’t blogged not one thing, lol. But I’m a perfectionist when it comes to travel and details. Especially the outfits. I’m so bad that I had to get pen and paper and write ALL of the details of each outfit for each show that I was attending and since I had quite a few shows planned to attend, I also did an itinerary. That’s a lot. First on my to do list was to interview Lisa Logan, manicurist for Beyonce’s Inauguration Nails and she was also the manicurist for yesterday’s Nicholas K. show during NYFW. But after getting to NYC at the crack of dawn, running to the hotel to check-in and change, then arriving to Lincoln Center at 8am, I STILL missed my interview with her and the runway show. I guess by this being the very first show of the week there were a lot of glitches. I stood in the line in the cold outside Lincoln Center only to be told after the fact at the check-in desk that I had special pre-show backstage access. Oh well, at least I was supposed to be VIP, lol. So I made the best of the early access and took pics by the phenomenal Mercedes and different backdrops with the NYFW logo:
I’m wearing the NaKIMuli Dookie Dress, $120, Sizes 1X-3X. It’s the all black style from 2011 and it is now available here. But the Dookie Dress now comes in gold and black also. I wore it once previously but I switched up the dookie chain today. I added a pair of Charlotte Russe thigh-boots and Torrid Bangles. Faux-Fur clutch by Asos
My Photo was featured on the Style Network’s Photo Booth:
I noticed that in all of your pictures your skin looks flawless. What is your beauty routine? Do you use a moisturizer and a primer?
Awesome Job Sis! Sounds like the story of my life … have a chance to be a VIP and Forget it! 🙂 lol
I saw the Tadashi Shoji fashion show on Live Stream and it was awesome. It must have been so exciting to be right in the place up close and personal. You go, girl and I love the dress and your killer boots!!
Thanks, yes it was so blessed and fun to be there amongst the action
