OOTD: “Skater Chic”

Skater Collage

Now this was supposed to be one of my outfits that I wore during New York Fashion Week last week but since I had to leave so abruptly due to Nemo, I saved it until today. I’m wearing the trend of faux-leather skater skirts and this one is by ING from Macy’s. I got it on one of those one-day sales last month for only $29.99. (The Macy’s website is saying that it is now sold-out online but check back periodically because Macy’s does often re-stock items. But if not, just click on the link above for skater skirts and I have more options). I actually wore a skater skirt once before here on my blog but wanted to try one with a little more flare to it at the bottom. I notice these skater skirts tend to run full so I knew that I would need a wide-belt with it to keep it securely up on me. Therefore I would have to wear a fitted shirt to tuck in the skirt.

This Three Quarter Sleeved Off Shoulder Ruched Top is also by ING from Macy’s and was only $26.99 during the same one-day sale. The curvy ladies must really be on to the Macy’s website and their sales because the items go so quickly. Sometimes even before I can receive my order. But like I said earlier, they may restock it but if not, here’s a similar version available by Baby Phat from the Dr. Jay’s website. As with the other short dress that I wore this week, I kept the tights black as well as my Torrid wedge booties.  If you have big legs like me, the shorter the dress, the darker the tights. (Although I am tempted to maybe try the colored tights trend one day, hmmm). My earrings ($1 from beauty store) were literally the first pair that I grabbed out of my jewelry stash and they are humongous so I didn’t wear any other jewelry with this ensemble.
