OOTD: “Houndstooth and Hello Kitty”

For the actual Homegoing Service for my Grandmother I wore this black and houndstooth ensemble. Like I stated before, you don’t have to wear all black to funerals anymore but yet I wanted an elegant look too. What better way than to add a slight pop of color to the classic black and white combination. I had a whole other outfit chosen all week but then I ran into Ashley Stewart at the last minute the day before and found this open-front Houndstooth Duster ($39.50) from their new Fall collection. I simply added a black pants jumpsuit underneath and a wide red belt (from Torrid) to keep the sweater sorta closed in the front. My Grandmother always loved hats so I wore mine as a homage to her and just a red necklace, also by Ashley Stewart. I eventually swapped out for black ballerinas later in the day but in the pics above, I’m wearing the Hello Kitty Pumps that were available at Torrid a year or so ago.
