OOTD: “The Moto Jacket and Maxi Dress Look”
A while back Australian retailer City Chic was kind enough to send me this Pleat Petal Maxi Dress for review. I was originally to wear it for a fashion show late this summer but my plans got cancelled at the last minute. But that’s ok because now I get to show it in a different fashion. Did you know the latest fashion trend is to pair up maxi dresses with motorcycle jackets? I have touched on this subject a little before when blogging on How to Transition Your Maxi Dresses from Summer to Fall, but I never actually demonstrated one.
You see the dress that I’m wearing, although it is a special occasion maxi, would probably not be the ideal choice to wear alone for someone on the east coast such as myself during these brutal winter months. But, if you pair it up with a motorcycle jacket, it can still be very fashionable. That way you get both warmth and trendiness at the same time.
I loved the flow of the dress on. It is really “Gone with the Wind Fabulous”, as I like all of my floor-length gowns to be. It is fully lined with an invisible zipper in the center of the back but the jeweled waist and neckline give this dress all of its appeal. Check out the double back strap detailing in the back of it. For my West Coast ladies this is a year-round must have and I can’t wait to wear it alone come Springtime.
