OOTD: “Risqué Me” (The Faux-Leather Shorts Trend)
Let me just woosah before I get started on this post, lol. I know with a new hairstyle comes a “Brand New Me” but I REALLY went out of my comfort zone with today’s outfit post. Now what may be offensive and shocking to most is an everyday thing to some people. Well I went on a limb and tried the new trend of faux-leather shorts. If you’ve been following me for a while then you know that I rarely if ever wear anything short, well this short anyway. Not that I’m ashamed of my legs or anything but I guess it’s the southern church-belle in me where I cover up most of the time. But every now and then you have to be a little risqué with fashion.
So that’s exactly what I did with my latest outfit. I’m all over this faux-leather everything trend from the skirts, jumpsuits, tops to the dresses but today I tried the shorts. I’m wearing the Faux-Leather Short Shorts ($25) with the Faux-Leather Jacket/Shirt in Black ($36) both from Chic and Curvy Boutique. (I’m actually wearing the top backwards but I didn’t realize that until afterwards. It works both ways though so you get a two-for-one look in this peplum top). The shorts actually fit kinda good although I would still suggest going a size up. They are elastic waist pull-on and of course, very short. If you are concerned about so much leg showing I would simply suggest flesh tone hosiery or black tights. I didn’t go for either because that would have taken away from the thigh-boot.
Yes, I added a thigh-boot in one of my looks for that rocker chic (dominatrix) appeal. Then I went for a way to sort of soften my look by adding a tuxedo jacket and matching tuxedo shoes. I also googled ways to wear leather shorts and here are more options that just happened to be worn by many celebs:
Thigh Boots from Torrid (2010)
Tuxedo Jacket from Simply Be (2011)
Belt from Ashley Stewart (2011)
Red Lips Clutch and Tuxedo Shoes both via Ebay
You go girl!!!!
You made a believer out of me!! I saw this outfit and thought I couldn’t pull it off. Now I can’t wait to wear it!!!

Where did you get the thigh high boots from?
